FAMILY BASIC MEDIATION TRAINING
Community Mediation Services, Inc. is pleased to announce that our next Family Basic Mediation Training Seminar is scheduled for March & October 2008. Please refer to the application link below for the respective training dates. The Family-Basic Mediation Training consists of a basic thirty-hour mediation training certified by the Office of Court Administration plus an additional, specialized, twelve-hour custody and visitation mediation training.
Tuition is FREE for this class only, and is funded by the NYC Family Court, through the New York City Family Court Mediation Program (NYCFCMP). The New York City Family Court Mediation Program is a court-based program administered by the Family Court in collaboration with Community Mediation Services to provide mediation services to people with custody, visitation or parenting cases pending in court.
The New York City Family Court Mediation Program offers you a unique opportunity to join a select group of highly trained and dedicated mediators. Following this training, you may be eligible to participate in an apprenticeship with the NYCFCMP. Completion of NYS Court -certified mediation training is a mandatory pre-requisite to joining the NYCFCMP mediator panel, one of only a few paying panels for mediators in New York State . Preference is given to those applicants who have actual experience as an apprentice in the various area of mediation. Whether you are an experienced divorce mediator who has not yet taken an official NYS Certified custody and visitation mediation training, an experienced community volunteer mediator who wants to do more challenging work, or you are otherwise looking to expand your knowledge about mediation, skills and abilities, this program may be for you.
This training is FREE , but SPACE IS LIMITED. Interested attorney applicants may be eligible for CLE credits, in the areas of skills and ethics. For more information on CLE credits , click here.
