The CMS Training Institute
The New York City Board Of Education has awarded CMS Requirements Agreement Contracts to provide Student Support Training, School Leadership Team Training and Violence Prevention/Intervention Services to its schools.
The CMS training institute is a leader in developing programs and training applications for conflict resolution, mediation, and collaborative problem solving to NYC's schools. We have successfully trained each constituency: students, teachers, staff, parents, administrators and district personnel. We have worked in this area through NYC for over 16 years, integrating these skills across the school community, all with the goals of affecting the broader school culture and impacting parents.
We have long recognized and worked to prevent the many factors which leave our children vulnerable and at risk. Our organization has worked successfully to promote effective approaches to collaboration, conflict resolution and problem solving for youths, their families and our communities. We have worked extensively with many schools, after school programs and organizations to increase student's skills and empower them to make healthy decisions. CMS's goal is to enable people to develop skills and learn to identify the resources needed to resolve their own problems. We do this through advocacy, mediation and training.
We provide both professional development as well as direct student services to public schools in New York City in five areas:
