Victim/Offender Youth Mediation Project
The concept behind Victim/Offender Mediation holds that justice does not always adequately address the needs of victims, and it does not necessarily prevent future crimes. Victims are often left with emotional damage that punishment does not alleviate. Arrests in and of themselves do not always speak to the reasons why individuals commit offenses. Through victim/offender mediation, the victim has the opportunity to face the offender to review personal issues of violation, and the offender has an opportunity to offer an apology or voice an acceptance of responsibility for what happened
Victim/Offender Youth Mediation Project is Funded by The Crime Victim Board
